I always say that leaders make leaders so the point about developing someone who also pass you is important. When you work on your own resources to help others build theirs you're in the right place but if you're building resources to prevent others from building theirs you know you're in the wrong place.
The real test is whether I can build someone up without needing to stay bigger than them. If my development makes other people smaller, that is not leadership.
